Taraba Governor awards Construction of 24 kilometer Yerima Gassol Road, Gassol integrated farms to start milling by 2022.

Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has awarded the Construction for the 24 kilometer Yerima Gassol Road, he made this known on Saturday 20th November 2021 at Gassol Town when he visited the Gassol integrated farms for inspection.

The Governor on Saturday visited the Gassol integrated farms to see for him self the level of work done so far on the site for the installation of the rice milling machines and where the cultivation of over 30,000, hecters of rice will be cultivated.

Speaking during the visit the Governor addressed issues raised by the Representative of the farm, issues such as short of power supply , insecurity and lack of good roads. The Governor assured them of talking with the federal minister of power to see on how they can liase so that they can supply the farms with adequate power.

He also on the side of security shortage assured them of immediate deployment of security personnel to the farms as well as Taraba Marshalls who will assist in protecting their workers and keeping their equipments save. The Governor assured them of 100 percent completion for the construction of the Yerima Gassol road before he leaves office in 2023.

Mr Augustine Monday and Kado George who spoke simultaneously on behalf of the Gassol integrated farms appreciated the tireless efforts of the Governor in making sure that the farm kickstarts and also supports the progress of mounting their machines as well as seeing to it that cultivation commenced on a very good time.

So far out of the 30,000 hecters giving to them for cultivation only 700 has been cultivated with an assurance of 5000 to be cultivated before ending December 2021. The company has machines with capacity of cultivated 50 hecters per day, 500 hecter in 10days as well as bagging of 500 per hours.
