BASG Partners relevant unions to boost revenue generation through mining

The State Ministry of of Natural Resources, has introduced a new Mining Policy that would improve revenue generation, through mining activities to the state.

The State Commissioner Ministry of Natural Resources, Alhaji Nuruddeen Abdulhamid, stated this during a stakeholders meeting with the leadership of Miners, Tipper Unions, including members of the NURTW on how to increase revenue generation to the state, through mining activities.

He said the essence of the meeting, is to collaborate and discuss matters with the Tipper Unions in the state, so as to boost revenue generation to government, through mining transportations.

Alhaji Nuruddeen Abdulhamid, said the Ministry of Natural Resources, is saddled with the responsibilities of monitoring, and evaluating the abundant natural resources of the state and diversify ways of accessing more revenues to the government and stressed the need for the stakeholders in this sector, to their inputs towards diversifying the state economy.

He evealed that the mining policy, would register mining operators and have their data base, in order to sanitize the system, adding that the mining operators would pay their loads and surface rents through Dreamlabs Consultant GRA Bauchi, in order to avoid any hitches.

The Commissioner, therefore stressed the need for miners, tipper and unions, to provide all the necessary support and cooperations, to enable them benefit from this initiatives.

In their separate remarks, the Chairmen Mining Operators and Tipper Associations, Alhaji Bello Inuwa Galoji and Danladi Bako, decried the challenges they are facing in the course o thei activities to include physical assault from the host communities among others and appealed the state government through the Ministry of Natural Resources to intervene, in order to address the challenges.

Alhaji Bello Inuwa Galoji and Danladi Bako, therefore reassured their readiness to support government’s initiatives, for the overall development of the state.
