Taraba: Governor Darius flag-off Construction of 500 Housing units, as NEDC presents food and non food items to the state

Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku of Taraba State, has flag-off the construction of 500 Housing Units along side distribution of food and non food items brought by North East Development Commision.

A statement signed by the Special Assistant to the governor on New Media, Nelson C. Len, said governor Ishaku, has received the commission earlier at the Exco Chambers, where they disclosed their mission and purpose for the visit.

Speaking at the event, the chairman of the board, Maj. Gen Paul C. Tarfa said the Commision in recent times, has executed other projects in the state and has come to consolidate on them by the demands of the state government.

Senator Yusuf A. Yusuf, chairman of senate’s committee overseeing the commision, lauded the efforts of the governor and disclosed that under him, Taraba state is equal to the task to compete with other states in the north east in many aspects.

Honourable Maigari Bello, who is the chairman overseeing the commision in the house of Representatives, said with the Governor handling all the projects to be executed by the NEDC in the state, he is optimistic that the contractors will complete and handover all the projects ahead of other states that commenced before Taraba.

Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku, while appreciating the commision for its commitment in bringing to Taraba state what is due for her from the federal government, said he will make sure that he follows up all the projects to the latter for proper and quality work.

He disclosed that he has been in touch with National Assembly members from the state, and they have assured him of more push for the state when it comes to allocations.

Items handed over to the state Government for onward distribution include 10,000 bags of 25kg rice, 2,000 gallons of vegetables oil, 1,500 packs of Maggi, 2,000 bags of sugar, tractors, among others.
