NSITF describes employers Safety as critical to development of organizations

The Deputy General Manager of Health safety and Environment Department, Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, Mr Bino Okonweza stated this while briefing newsmen at the end of Annual Occupational Safety And Health Enlightenment/ Awareness Program for the North East, held at Development Exchange Center, DEC Bauchi.

Bino Okonweza said the objective of the awareness is to make employers know the essence of having safe culture at where they work.

Okonweza added that safety reduces absenteeism, rate of sickness and improve productivity at a work place, among others.

He called on the participants to implement what they have learned as they are going back to their various organizations.

Some of the participants, commended the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund for the awareness and assured to make use of the knowledge gained at the event.

The participants were drawn from both Private and Public organizations.

The theme for the event is Enhancing Productivity through Prevention of Workplace, Accident and Promotion of Occupational Safety and Health.
