NubaPoly launches a skills acquisition centre

The Rector, Nuhu Bamalli polytechnic Zaria, Engineer Mohammed Kabir Abdullahi, has yesterday commissioned the newly built skills acquisition center at Nuhu Bamalli polytechnic demonstration secondary school Zaria (formerly staff school).

Engr. Kabir while speaking to Nubapolyfm, showed his utmost appreciation to the Demonstration school management in conjunction with its governing board for initiating and bringing the project to the limelight. He stated the importance of skills for the students especially at the secondary level.

The Rector called on the students to utilise the priviledge and attend the sessions on time.

According to the Director, school of vocational training and technical education who also doubles as the chairman governing board of the secondary school, Dr Adamu Ishaq kauru, the training has been co-opted into the curriculum of the school and will be treated just like other subjects.

He further stated their plan to engage other students from neighbouring schools as time goes on.

The head of the centre, Mallam Bala Galadima appreciated the efforts of all colleagues in seeing this project come to being. He added that, the centre which has tailoring and hair dressing sections, is just an addition to the wood work and electric sessions some of the senior students engage in.

Meanwhile, Mallam Umar, an English teacher in the school mentioned that the center is the first in any school around Zaria if not Kaduna state. Mallama Na’ima, who’s incharge of the hair saloon showed her readiness to impact the skills she has to the students.

Similarly, the Head boy of the school Abubakar Ibrahim Abubakar and head girl, Rukayah Mukhtar, showed their appreciation to the management of the school,calling on all students to effectively utilise the initiative which will help them in future.
