Bauchi State First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed has advocated for the establishment of a mobile court for speedy trial of perpetrators of sexual and gender based violence.

The First Lady made the request when she led members of the Bauchi State Action Committee on Sexual and Gender Based Violence on an advocacy visit to Governor Bala Mohammed at the Banquet Hall, Government House Bauchi.

Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed said establishing the mobile court will also strengthen the operational capacity of the committee.

The first lady, who is the patron of the committee, appealed to the state government to do more by coming up with new strategy towards curbing the menace in the state.

She said the visit was to intimate the Governor on the activities of the committee, with a view to soliciting for his support order to achieve the desired objectives.

Responding, Governor Bala Mohammed assured the committee of his administration’s readiness to give them the necessary support in order to effectively carry out their humanitarian activities.
