A charity organization based in Bulgaria, Charity Association Margarity, has donated 29 cows and 50 rams to less privileged individuals in Dukku local government area of Gombe state.

The donated cows and rams were slaughtered according to Islamic rites shortly after the Eid prayer was said and distributed accordingly.

Speaking at the occasion of the Distribution Exercise of the ‘Qurban’ Meat at Dukku township stadium, the Nigeria Country Coordinator Charity Association Margarity, Hafizu Muhammad Sulaiman, also a lecturer with Federal University Kashere, Gombe state, said his passion for helping people drove him into engagement with many organizations that give aid and grant to help the needy.

Muhammad said it was through such engagements and crusade that he came across Charity Association Margarity.

“I have been passionately following the activities of many charity organizations for years. After about 6 years of persistent commitment to see how to partner with one of the organizations in order to help less privileged people of my community and other societies bearing the brunt of this economic hardship in Nigeria, I received grant from Charity Association Margarity in April 2021 to drill hand-pump boreholes in two villages – Alagarno area of Wuro-Tale ward in Dukku LGA and Garin Bozo, Dokoro area of Dukku LGA.”

The Nigeria Country Coordinator of the nonprofit organization said the two projects under ‘Jannah Water Well’ have been successfully completed and commissioned.

Giving his address on the sallah meat distribution program on eid day, Muhammad said the project was also financed by Charity Association Margarity and was aimed at helping people that were unable to make the religious sacrifice to get sallah meat.

The Nigeria Country Coordinator said many people donated funds through the association and grant was sent which was used to buy 29 cows and 50 rams of different sizes.

In his address, the Executive Chairman of Dukku local government, Alhaji Jamilu Ahmad Shabewa, thanked Hafizu Muhammad Sulaiman, the Nigeria Country Coordinator for bringing a development that has direct bearing on the lives of the needy in the area and solicited for more projects that will address water scarcity affecting the local government.

No fewer than one thousand (1,000) less privileged benefited from the kind gesture.

The beneficiaries, who were amazed at the commitment of the young Muhammad, the Coordinator, thanked him and the Charity Association Margarity for adding lustre to their sallah celebration.
