Federal College of Education (Technical) Gombe, has been a favourable institution of learning for a number of students from far and neighboring states, since its creation. This has to do with the standard of the school, which supersedes its peers in the north east sub-region and beyond. FCE (T) Gombe has been able to graduate thousands of students, with many underway.
It is on record that, FCE(T) Gombe has witnessed a number of leadership since its creation in 1977 as National Teachers College. The leadership style of the past and present leaders made it possible for the institution to attain a level of development in various aspects, notably physical infrastructures and human resource. However, there was no single capital project in the college since 2008.
But, with the coming into office around 2018 of the new Provost, Dr. Ali Adamu Boderi, being a man of integrity and merit. A workaholic personality with an esteemed sense of administration; extraordinary ability to analyze problems and chart a course of development; he did more than enough to secure the institution a capital project which will Insha Allah further make the college conducive for teaching and learning.
Among the projects secured by this gentleman is the construction of new gates to change the school looks and direction, the construction of New Science Complex with attached Staff office and student classes, construction of Automobile Department, boreholes, Early Child Care Education Department (ECC) as well as the construction of new roads, among others.
It is pertinent to note that, these great achievements were recorded in his two years in office as the Provost of the college. This wouldn’t have been possible, without him being very proactive and committed to the development of the the institution.
There is no doubt, his ability to grasp new concepts so quickly and accept constructive criticism concerning his work, leads to the upliftment of the college to an enviable height.
I must say that, working with this creative and responsible man is a blessing. His good sense of humor made him to be likeable by colleagues.
As the Provost of the College, he supervised the construction of all the projects himself so as to hasten the completion of projects in good time and ensure standards.
To cut it short, the current Provost of FCE (T) is breaking grounds with his exemplary leadership style, which is believed to be responsible for the progress of the institution at this time.
Dr. Boderi is indeed a leader, who acts professionally and motivates others towards making Federal College of Education (Tech), Gombe a centre of excellence.
What Dr. Ali Adamu Boderi needs from all of us at this time is prayers.
