How Gov. Bala Celebrates Eid-el-Fitr

Karamar Sallah (Eid-el-Fitr) is an auspicious period that calls for sober reflection and sharing of goodwill among adherents of Islam across the world. The celebration marks the end of the blessed month of Ramadan and the sacrifices Muslim faithful make during the month.

The Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, joined his fellow Muslim faithful in the spirit of joy, happiness and obedience to the Almighty Allah. On Eid day, the executive governor attended the Eid-El-Fitr two raka’at prayer at the Bauchi Central Eid ground. This is not the first time he is doing so, as the democratically elected governor of the state.

In a goodwill message to Muslim ummah on the celebration, Governor Bala recalled that the Eid-el-Fitr celebration formally marks the end of the obligatory Ramadan fast, which is observed annually by Muslims.

He therefore, urged Muslims to use the lessons of the Ramadan fast beyond the month, by being responsible both in their utterances and conduct.

Governor Bala said the occasion should be used to reflect on the past activities and emulate Prophet Muhammad by making sacrifices for the benefit of the less privileged in the society.

The Governor, who tasked Muslim Ummah to use the occasion of the Eid-el- Fitr to consolidate on the harmonious coexistence, said the occasion should also be used to strengthen the existing relationships and also establish new ones.

Governor Bala, further appealed for tolerance and accommodation by various ethnic, religious and political groups in the state and to pray to Almighty Allah for peace,
unity and prosperity of the state.

He said his administration was determined to discharge its primary responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the entire people of the State and, therefore, appealed to all to join hands with the government in its resolve to have a secured, peaceful, prosperous and united Bauchi State.

Governor Bala, also appealed to motorists to observe traffic regulations to reduce accidents on highways during and beyond the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, and called on parents to take care of their children and wards to minimize the incidents of missing children during the celebration.

The governor, observed the two raka’at prayers along with Emir of Bauchi, His Royal Highness, Dr Rilwanu Suleimanu Adamu; Grand Khadi of Bauchi state; Secretary to the State Government, chief of staff government house, among other top government officials and other traditional leaders from the Bauchi Emirate.

According to reports from the governor’s Special Assistant on New Media, Lawal Muazu Bauchi, Governor Bala on his way to Government House Bauchi, after performing the two raka’at prayers, received overwhelming cheers from his supporters and well-wishers in appreciation of his giant strides.

Coming from a royal family, the governor later took chance alongside other dignitaries to attend a colourful Sallah durbar, held at Bauchi Emir’s palace.

The Executive Governor during the durbar alongside His Royal Highness, the Emir of Bauchi, Dr Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, received Sallah homage from Traditional rulers under the Emirate.

On his part, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Bauchi, Dr Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, emphasized the need for a harmonious relationship among the diverse people of the state for peaceful coexistence in the society.

A day after Sallah, the Governor in the spirit of the festive period, took time to receive officials of the JIBWIS Bakin Kura, NURTW Bauchi Branch, Kaura Vocational Training Centre, top government officials, political office holders, women and youth groups as well as well-wishers, who paid him a Sallah homage at Ramat House, Bauchi.

Receiving the delegation, Governor Bala thanked them for the visit and appreciated the level of their support and prayers to his administration.

He assured them that his administration will continue to come up with robust plans that would impact positively on the lives of the citizens of the State.

Governor Bala, while appealing to the JIBWIS to continue to support his administration with prayers, called on the NURTW to assist the government in advancing the transport sector in the State.

The Governor, also commended members of Kaura Vocational Training Centre for engaging in useful ventures and promised to support them to achieve their desired objectives.

In her remark, the State First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohamme, who led the members of Kaura Vocational Training Centre, appreciated the commitment of Governor Bala in providing empowerment support to the people of the State, especially women and youth.

On Saturday, May 5th, 21, the Governor’s Special Assistant on New Media, Lawal Muazu Bauchi reported that Governor Bala, having royal blood in him, participated at the Sallah alongside other durbar traditional title holders at Government House Bauchi.

Speaking at the occasion, Senator Bala reaffirmed the determination of his administration to protect and respect the integrity and values of traditional institutions in the state.

The Governor, assured that his administration would continue to accord traditional rulers and religious leaders the needed support to enable them to contribute positively towards the progress and development of the state.

He acknowledged the outstanding contributions of traditional institutions and religious leaders to the maintenance of peace and security in the state as well as their support to the implementation of government’s policies.

Governor Bala, therefore, expressed the readiness of the state government to look into the request made by the Bauchi Emirate Council on improving the capacity of traditional institutions in the state.

Earlier, the Emir of Bauchi, Dr Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed for his commitment to strengthening the operational status of traditional rulers in the state.
