Governor Bagudu receives ministerial Progress report as council resumes sitting

Kebbi State Executive Council recovened this Wednesday in continuation of its weekly meeting presided by Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.

Various ministries presented reports on their achievements in 2021 where the ministry of Health recorded the upgrading of the school of Nursing Birnin Kebbi to College of Nursing Sciences and the School of Health Technology Jega to College of Health Technology.

The Council acknowledged the introduction of community health in the College of Nursing aimed at enhancing healthcare services to all nooks and crannies of the state.

At a news briefing vanguard by the commissioner for Higher Education Professor Mukhtar Umar Bunza the Council directed the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to liaise with local government councils to assist security agencies in the maintenance of peace and tranquility.

Professor Mukhtar said the Exco commended the people of Maiyama for resisting some miscreants land speculators from cutting down eighty palm trees in the area, and urged people in the state to plant and nurture trees to maturity.

The Commissioner for Works and Transport Alhaji Abubakar Chika Ladan said today’s meeting was a follow-up to last week’s meeting saying that Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has installed digital communication making it possible for members elsewhere to participate virtually in deliberations.

The Ministry of Information gave report on digitalization of Kebbi Radio and Television and was directed to provide comprehensive details on what is required to enable their signals received throughout the state.

The Commissioner for Environment, Alhaji Hayatu Bawa Jega dismissed report on social media that Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has indicated that he would not pay 2020 leave grant to civil servants and May salary.

He said the Governor would continue to pay workers’ salary while the issue of leave grant would be examined between the leadership of NLC and the government.
