While commending him for various developmental projects across the State, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman requests him to rebuild the Assembly Complex which was built since 1977.

“Your Excellency, in some states, we are seeing assembly complexes with modern building and modern electronic facilities. I know you have intention to do it. I know you will do it. I request you to please do it so that we will work in conducive environment which will ease our work.

“Secondly, Your Excellency, most of the Honourable Members reside in vulnerable and insecure areas which exposed the to many dangers. I know you are planning to build a three arm quarters, we urge you to expedite action toward that so that we will benefit from the legislative quarters.” He further requested.

Some of the Honourable Members who spoke during the event thanked the Governor for honouring them with the iftar dinner and expressed satisfaction on the leadership of Speaker Abubakar Y Suleiman.

In his remarks, Governor Bala thanked the lawmakers for their support to his administration, saying the credit of the achievements being recorded by his administration should also go to the lawmakers who facilitated.

According to the Governor, people initially thought because the opposition APC has majority in the Assembly, there will be chaos and rancour between the arms but with the will of Almighty Allah, the leaders and members of the Assembly put people first and rendered all needed support for the success of his administration.

“This is worthy of emulation to all states in the country. Some governors would call me to inquire on the secrets of the peaceful coexistence between us. Some governors are of the same party with the legislature but still problems exist.

“This is the work of Almighty God and I thank you most sincerely. I urge you not to listen negative people. I don’t listen to them too. We have put our initial problems at our back and moved on with all sense of fairness to all.” The Governor said.

He explained that despite the paucity of funds in the State, his administration has raised internally generated revenue and block leakages, thus he will now concentrate on putting food on people’s table through human development drive and execution of developmental projects in all constituencies irrespective of party affiliation so that their constituents will respect them being their representatives.

Governor Bala Mohammad prayed that day oneday, himself and all the lawmakers will be on the same political roof.
