ABU Zaria to introduce more agricultural courses.

Division of Agriculture colleges, Ahmadu Bello University Samaru Zaria, sponsored over fifteen staff for foreign courses to enhance professionalism and agricultural expertise.

Director of the Division, Prof. Musa Mahadi stated this in an interview with Martaba FM in Zaria.

Prof. Musa Mahadi, explained that the staff are undergoing their second and third degree programme in various fields of agriculture.

He said arrangement has been concluded to introduce a course of study on irrigation Agronomy in the division as part of plans to boost Agricultural research.

The Director emphasized that when introduced, the Division will be the first in west African countries to establish such course in colleges of Agriculture.

According to him, the course will be thought at Diploma level while another newly introduced course on Agric business will be conducted at Higher National Diploma level.

He said the Division has collaborated with Federal and state Governments as well as other Agricultural partners in a bid to transform the sector for Economic and commercial activities.

He urged staff and students of the Colleges to discharge their responsibility to the best of their ability to move the college forward.

The courses were expected to commence next academic session as soon as approval from National Board for Technical Education is received.
