Gombe Governor procures and distributes Palliatives to people

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, of Gombe State says his administration has expanded the sum of seven hundred and seventy five million naira
on the procurement and distribution of palliatives to the people of the state in order to cushion their sufferings.

The Governor stated this at the flagged off ceremony of phase two of the statewide distribution of palliatives to poor and vulnerable households in Dukku local government area of the state.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya noted that his administration would continue to champion policies that gives citizens in the state the opportunity to have access to good governance through the provision of life supporting interventions especially in times of need.

According to him, the distribution of the relief materials is a tradition of his administration aimed at addressing the hardship faced by the people during the current COVID-19 pandemic and also individuals affected by flood disaster as well as over two hundred victims of the recent Billiri crisis.

Governor Yahaya, maintained that, to ensure justice and fairness in the distribution of the palliatives, his government has put machinery in motion so that the materials get to the intended beneficiaries at the local, ward and polling units levels.

While expressing the hope that government intervention would yielded a fruitful results, the governor assured the people of Dukku local government area that his administration would address the lingering issue of water scarcity in the area.

Earlier, the Chairman Gombe State Palliatives Distribution Committee, who is also a Deputy Governor Gombe State, Dr Manasah Daniel Jatau, noted that, the governor constituted a committee to ensure that the relief materials get the intended beneficiaries without any form of diversion.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Chairman Dukku local government area, Jamilu Ahmed Shabewa, applauded governor Yahaya for his compassion for the poor and vulnerable in the society, stressful the need for the people in the state to support the present administration to enable it to succeed.
