As the month of Ramadan draws nearer, traders and shop owners in Bauchi have been admonished to desist from unnecessary hoarding of their commodities to create price hike, thereby inflicting more harm on the people.

The Chief Imam Bilal Ibn Rabah Jumu’at Mosque Unguwan Dim, Muhammad Yusuf Adam made the admonishment today while delivering his Friday sermon.

He cautioned traders of food stuff and other commodities against hoarding of goods with the intention of increasing prices in order to accumulate wealth.

Citing different verses from the Holy Qur’an and Hadith, Imam Muhammad Yusuf warned that people who engaged in such habit attract Allah’s anger, and their wealth will never last on Earth.

He enjoined Muslims to imbibe the culture of assisting one another especially during the month of Ramadan and beyond, as this promote unity and brotherhood among people.

The Chief Imam while appreciating the State Government in the current efforts to expand the supply of portable drinking water across nooks and crannies of the metropolis, also called on the well to do individuals to always allow their neighbors to fetch water from their wells so as to attract Allah’s blessings.

He emphasized the need for people to continue assist one another in critical times like this, so as to earn more rewards.
