WITHHELD SALARIES: Bauchi Governor meets leaders of organized Labour, set up committee for investigation

Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has today met with the leadership of organized labour in Bauchi State.

Speaking with journalists after the meeting, the Chief of Staff, Government House Bauchi, Dr Ladan Salihu said all the issues identified by the labour have been discussed extensively and agreed upon.

He added that Governor Bala has during the meeting constituted a committee to be headed by the Deputy Governor, Senator Baba Tela to find solutions related to challenges in the payment of salaries.

Dr Ladan added that Governor Bala has however appointed the SSG Alhaji Mohammed Sabiu Baba as the committee’s secretary with one month to submit report.

The CoS called for support to the administration of Governor Bala to enable him succeed in sanitizing the payroll and for the betterment of the civil service.

Earlier speaking, the chairman, NLC Bauchi State Chapter, Comrade Danjuma Saleh expressed gratitude to Governor Bala for finding it worthy to call for the meeting, describing their engagement as fruitful.
