International Women Day: Group charges women to participate more in politics

Women have been charged to stand firm and shun any challenges that hinders them from participating in politics and government policies.

The called was made, during the celebration of women’s day celebration organized by Fahimta Women and Youth Development Initiative (FAWOYDI) Bauchi, in collaboration with Actionaid Nigeria with support from Canada.

While speaking, the special guest at the occasion, Esther Ahmad who is the Director General of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) said in developing countries women are considered as equal and given chances to play their part in nation’s building.

She added that, women can contribute immensely to eradicate challenges affecting humanity because they’re kind hearted and mother of all.

Also speaking, the Executive Director of Fahimta Hajiya Maryam Garba elaborate more on the theme of this year’s women’s day “Choose to challenge” by emphasizing women’s are now ready to face all challenges together and henceforth participate in all doings politically, socially and economically.

The project officer women voice for leadership, Florence Daniel said their organization is aimed at encouraging women to actively participate in politics and decision making.
