Governor Bala Muhammad of Bauchi State has demonstrated high level of commitment towards providing job opportunities to teaming unemployed citizens as he facilitates the ongoing construction of a modern rice firm in the state.
The economic driven initiative is a collaboration between the state government and Tiamir Rice Firm, managed by a Bauchi based businessman, Alhaji Aminu Muhammad.
In this partnership, the state government has provided its counterpart share of multiple hectares of licensed land for construction of the state of the art company in addition to other relevant facilities.
At a meeting with investors from the world-class firm at government house Bauchi, Governor Bala Muhammad said the decision to support the initiative was in line with his administration economic empowerment policies aimed at securing job opportunities and improving businesses for the wellbeing of the citizenry.
The rice production company proposes to commence operation from the first quarter of next year, would provide direct and indirect employment to over one thousand citizens.
Also during the historic event, Governor Bala Muhammad disclosed a plan by his government to invite fifteen major farmers from South Africa to work with local farmers in cultivating the verging arable land across some identified agrarian communities in the state.
This effective agricultural intervention would no doubt guarantee Food Security and promote price competitiveness, especially now that the price of foodstuffs skyrocketed, making life unbearable to low income earners.
The state government has also pledged adequate security and a level playing ground for the management and staff of any potential progressive minded investors willing to branch in the state.
With this and other commitments shown by Bala Muhammad led administration, Bauchi State is witnessing positive impact of the “Kauran Bauchi Economic Empowerment Programme” KEEP.
