Billiri Protests: Gombe State Government imposes 24 hours curfew

Following the current eruption of violence in Billiri Town which has been degenerated in to a security threat, the state government has imposed 24 hour curfew within Billiri local government area.

This was contained in statement signed by secretary to the state government, Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi.

Abubakar Njodi said the curfew is with immediate effect from today 19 February 2021, the government has suspended all forms of gathering in Billiri local government area.

The statement pointed out that government affirmed the need for peaceful among the citizenry and commitment to the protection of lives and properties.

The government directed all security agencies to ensure strict compliance with the directive, all citizens are expected to comply except those personnel providing essential services.
