Nigerians for long time been outcry seeking for the sacking of the immediate past Service chiefs over the Insecurity which they believe if the service Chiefs are been sack, it will Immensely help to end the insurgency and other menace of insecurity in the country, particularly the Boko Haram Insurgency which wreck hovoc to the country for a decade, particularly the North Eastern states. But what Nigerians have failed to understand is the subsequent appointment of the service chiefs which will not solve all the menace of the insecurity of the country, the appointment of the service chiefs is like an overhaul but won’t bring overnight change, but is a first step key, because apart from the activities of Boko Haram in Nigeria’s North East there is infamous kidnapping and other Security challenges which are expecting the Newly appointed service Chiefs to overcome.

Before the appointment of the immediate past service chiefs, Boko Haram had captured over 20 local Governments in Nigeria’s North Eastern State. In several times Boko Haram strive to ensure the capturing of Damaturu state capital of Yobe and Maiduguri state capital of Borno. The schools in the country were not secure, Boko Haram abducted over 300 girls students in chibok . The entire North lives in extreme fear and precarious threats of Boko Haram as they destroyed many police stations, Bombing of Banks, Churches and mosques where in Kano’s central mosque Boko Haram killed more than 300 people during the jummaat prayers in ,2014, what a miserable situation! Any other social gatherings were attacked by the Boko Haram. The activities of Boko Haram have been long time devastated the economy activities in the country where the militants Attacking major markets in the north; Kantin Kwari, Sabon Gari market and Singa market all this occurred in Kano State, apart from Kano State all major Markets have been attacked especially in Borno, Boko Haram Attacks them severely, in plateau state the millitants bombings the Terminus market. In My home town Bauchi State Boko Haram attacked central Market, In Gombe State the militants attacked one of the big cement factory in Nigeria.

Beside, the immediate past service chiefs have tried their possible best for degrading the level of attacks by the Boko Haram and recaptured all the local Goverments from the Boko Haram in the north, they deserve praise and kudos for that, but Fighting the warfare is not an easy task because even the advance nations, they are yet to finish the Fighting warfare in Iraq and Afghanistan despite their military intelegence and their war strengths

When President Buhari Appointed the outgoing service Chiefs, Nigerians were overwhelmed and hope for quick degrading of Boko Haram menace in totality, why? Because both the chief of air staff and Chief of Army staff have come from the North Eastern part of the country where there is the gigantic problem of Insecurity at was then, that’s why Nigerians put their high expectations on President Buhari and the service chiefs for restoring peace in the north east, but unfortunately the Insecurity escalated and become worst in the north west part of the country where bandits severely and rampantly killings the innocent people.

Nigeria now in a precarious situation where the newly appointed service chiefs would indeed face a serious challenges for restoring peace in the Country, because Nigeria has ongoing military operation in 35 out of the country’s 36 states, therefore every part is dealing with a near-existential security challenges, the big challenges now ahead of service chiefs is threat of the growing banditry and kidnappings in the North west part of the country Particularly Zamfara, Katsina and Kaduna State respectively and also the clashes between farmers and herders.

Before succeeding in fighting the insurgency in Nigeria there is a need to the Newly appointed Service chiefs to collaborate with the Military elites and seeking the public support and also collaborating with the immediate neighboring countries, like the Chad, Niger and Cameron.

Furthermore, the Newly appointed Service chiefs should carefully watch and fishout the unpatriotic within the military and also to enhance those in the battle field to ensure their logistics and welfare is guaranteed for them to have courage for fighting the insurgency, moreover the Government should provide adequate equipment and the military should enhance their intelegence for a successful victory in their fighting the insurgency and other menace of insecurity of the country.
