BASUG VC calls for Community Engagement against drug abuse, charges youth to shun Drug Abuse, Thugery in the society

The vice Chancellor, Bauchi State University Gadau Professor Auwalu Uba has advocated the need for active community engagement in addressing the menace of Drug Abuse and other forms of social vices.

Prof Auwal Uba made the statement during the 1st Civic orientation lecture on the dangers of Drug abuse and Sara – Suka menace in Bauchi metropolis organized by Wunti Community Initiative.

He also stress the need for parents to always monitor the activities of their children with a view to curtail the menace in the society.

The Vice Chancellor who describe Drug abuse as the root course of every social problems in the society, urged for more sensitization among society on the need to eradicate the menace.

In there paper presentations,the resources persons Dr Sadiq Launi of Federal polytechnic Bauchi and his counterpart of Bauchi state university Gadau Dr Shuaibu Idris Abubakar charge the community to put more effort on ensuring that youth acquired both Islamic and western education in other to be useful in the society.

In his welcome address, the chairman , Wunti community Initiative Dr Musa Adamu Wunti said the aim of the orientation lecture was to sensitized the Youth in the community on the dangers of drug abuse and anti- social behavior.

The district head of Bauchi Alh Nuru Adamu Jumba promise their total support as traditional ruler in eradicating the menace in the society.
