The Bauchi South Concern Vanguard, a socio-political advocacy group committed to promoting credible leadership and accountable representation, has officially launched a door-to-door awareness campaign across all seven Local Government Areas ofBauchi South Senatorial Zone.
The campaign seeks to sensitize the electorate on the importance of supporting capable and experienced individuals in the forthcoming 2027 general elections, with particular focus on the call for Alhaji Adamu Danladi Gokaru to contest for the Bauchi South Senatorial seat.
Although Alhaji Adamu Danladi Gokaru hails from Bauchi South, the Vanguard—motivated by his track record of integrity and administrative excellence—has extended its goodwill and mobilization drive beyond geographical boundaries, emphasizing that competence and credibility should transcend regional divides in the quest for a more progressive Bauchi State.
Alhaji Adamu Danladi Gokaru is a distinguished career civil servant who has devoted his entire professional life to the service of Bauchi State, rising through the ranks in the public finance sector.
According to the statement, he served meritoriously as Accountant General for five years, during which he introduced prudent financial management systems that strengthened transparency and accountability in public spending. His exceptional leadership qualities and reform-driven approach earned him the historic distinction of becoming the first Accountant General to be appointed as Head of Civil Service in Bauchi State — a testament to his uncommon administrative acumen and unwavering dedication to good governance.
Beyond the sub-national level, Alhaji Gokaru was later appointed by former Nigerian President, the late Muhammadu Buhari, as Executive Director (Finance) at Galaxy Backbone Limited, an independent parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy. There, his passion and professional expertise enabled him to navigate complex challenges and proffer effective solutions during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping to cushion its exacerbating impact on Nigerians through innovative digital and financial strategies.
The Chairman of the Bauchi South Concern Vanguard, Comrade Abbas Garba, who issued the statement, explained that the rationale behind their movement is to inform the public of their existence and canvass support for Gokaru’s candidacy. He emphasized that the initiative is not merely about political mobilization but about building consciousness among citizens to elect leaders of proven character and service-oriented vision.
“Our message to the good people of Bauchi State is simple,” Comrade Garba said. “The era of politics driven by sentiment and mediocrity is over. We must begin to recognize and rally behind individuals whose competence, honesty, and commitment to development are evident in their record of service. Adamu Danladi Gokaru represents such a figure — tested, trusted, and capable of providing effective representation at the National Assembly.”
The Vanguard’s door-to-door sensitization campaign will traverse Toro, Dass, Tafawa Balewa, Bogoro, Bauchi, Alkaleri, and Kirfi Local Government Areas, engaging community leaders, youth groups, women’s associations, and opinion shapers to foster informed political participation ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to the group, Alhaji Gokaru’s entry into elective politics would bring technocratic discipline and fiscal transparency to legislative representation, aligning perfectly with the renewed hope of building a more prosperous Bauchi South and, by extension, a stronger Bauchi State.
The Bauchi South Concern Vanguard reaffirmed its commitment to issue-based advocacy and pledged to continue enlightening citizens on the value of voting for merit, competence, and integrity over parochial affiliations.
“We are not endorsing politics of self-interest; we are endorsing politics of progress,” the statement concluded. “Adamu Danladi Gokaru is a model of excellence in public service, and his leadership experience is what Bauchi South — and indeed the entire state — needs at this critical juncture of our democratic development.”
