In a heartwarming display of compassion and philanthropy, over 300 less privileged individuals have benefited from a free cataract screening and surgery program conducted by Wunti Alkhair Foundation in collaboration with Albasar International Foundation.

The exercise, which aimed to restore sight and dignity to those suffering from cataract and other common eye conditions, has brought joy and hope to countless lives.

According to Umar Abubakar Magaji, Representative of Wunti Alkhair Foundation, the program targeted the most vulnerable members of society, providing them with access to quality eye care services at no cost.

He added that during the screening, over 100 individuals were identified for surgery, while others received medication, glasses, and consultations.

In a remark, Abdullahi Badamasi, Manager of Makka Specialist Eye Hospital, revealed that the exercise, which cost over N140,000 per patient, was rendered absolutely free, thanks to the collaborative effort between Wunti Alkhair and Albasar Foundations.

The beneficiaries of this noble initiative were overwhelmed with gratitude, and rightly so. Malam Aminu Bala, one of the beneficiaries, expressed his heartfelt appreciation, saying, “This gesture has restored my sight and given me a new lease on life.”

Aisha Alkali, another beneficiary, echoed similar sentiments, “I’m so grateful for this opportunity. I can now see the world with clarity and joy.”

Their stories are a powerful reminder of the impact that such initiatives can have on individuals and communities.
