Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has warned government officials against undertaking unnecessary travels to Abuja or outside the country, citing financial complications and the high cost of governance.
The Governor made this statement during the opening session of the state executive council meeting at the council chamber of the Government House in Bauchi.
He emphasized the need for prudent management of resources, given the state’s current financial challenges.
Governor Mohammed expressed frustration over the state’s inability to secure financial interventions and grants from the federal government.
He accused the federal government of being biased towards states under opposition parties, alleging that some states are receiving preferential treatment.
The Governor urged the federal government to be neutral in the distribution of interventions, stressing that states should not be punished or rewarded based on their political affiliations.
Senator Mohammed emphasized the need for officials to prioritize their responsibilities and focus on addressing the state’s challenges rather than indulging in unnecessary travels.
