The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has called on members of the public to report any individual, including its own staff, found to be involved in the unauthorized sale of official Hajj slots or visas.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Assistant Director of Information and Publication, Fatima Sanda Usara, stated that no official Hajj visa has been issued to Nigeria by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the 2025 Hajj arrangement.

“It is important to clarify that no official visa was issued to Nigeria by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under this year’s Hajj arrangement,” the statement read.

NAHCON stressed that only licensed Tour Operators are authorized to register pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj, warning the public to be cautious of fraudulent agents and unauthorized individuals claiming to possess or sell official Hajj visas or slots.

“The public is invited to report anyone who claims to be in possession of official visas or is selling same at any price. Similarly, NAHCON does not authorize any individual, apart from licensed Tour Operators, to register pilgrims for Hajj,” Usara said.

She further urged members of the public who have credible information or evidence regarding the unauthorized sale of Hajj slots or visas to report to the Commission immediately, so that appropriate action can be taken to protect innocent Nigerians from being defrauded.

Addressing concerns about flight delays, Usara confirmed that there has been no cancellation in the ongoing airlift of pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In fact, she noted that one flight from Niger State arrived ahead of schedule.

NAHCON commended its staff for their dedication and attributed the smooth operations so far to the effective collaboration with State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards and airline partners.
