The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has issued a warning to all contracted accommodation and catering service providers for the 2025 Hajj exercise, urging them to adhere strictly to international best practices or face appropriate sanctions.

The Deputy Makkah Coordinator of NAHCON, Alhaji Halidu Shutti, gave the warning during an engagement meeting with the service providers in Makkah.

He emphasized that the Commission is fully committed to safeguarding the welfare and comfort of Nigerian pilgrims.

“We will not accept services that fall short of international best practices,” Alhaji Shutti said.

“Every kobo paid by the pilgrims must be justified, and NAHCON will not hesitate to wield the big stick against any erring service provider.” he added.

The meeting, organized by NAHCON’s Makkah office, was part of ongoing preparations for the arrival of Nigerian pilgrims from Madina and aimed to assess the readiness of the service providers.

In response, representatives of the service providers pledged their commitment to ensuring a seamless and dignified Hajj experience for Nigerian pilgrims.

Mr. Abdul Qadir, speaking on behalf of the group, assured NAHCON of their full cooperation.

“We have recruited professionals and experienced staff to serve Nigerians in Makkah,” Mr. Abdul Qadir said. “We are committed to making the stay of the guests of Allah both memorable and worthwhile.”

NAHCON reiterates its resolve to uphold the highest standards in the delivery of Hajj services and will continue to monitor all service providers closely throughout the Hajj season.
