In a bid to quell the escalating violence and destruction of properties in Azare and its environs, the Bauchi State Government has announced a 24-hour curfew on the area.

The decision comes after reports of hoodlums taking advantage of the ongoing nationwide hunger protests to loot and destroy public and private properties.

According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, the curfew takes immediate effect.

The government’s swift response aims to prevent further breakdown of law and order in the area and protect the lives and properties of innocent citizens.

The hoodlums, who have been using the protests as a cover for their nefarious activities, have left a trail of destruction in their wake. Public and private properties, including businesses and residences, have been targeted, leaving many residents in a state of fear and uncertainty.

The government’s imposition of the curfew is a necessary measure to restore peace and stability in the area. The 24-hour restriction on movement will allow security agencies to effectively patrol the area and apprehend those responsible for the violence and destruction.

Residents of Azare and its environs have been advised to stay indoors and avoid any activities that may compromise their safety during the curfew period. And government has assured citizens that the security agencies will do everything possible to ensure their safety and security.
