The Bauchi state government has announced plans to partner with private investors to remodel and upgrade the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium into a 30,000-capacity sports arena.

According to the state Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Muhammad Salis Gamawa, this partnership will not only provide a befitting venue for sports enthusiasts but also create opportunities for economic growth and development.
Gamawa emphasized the importance of having modern sports facilities, stating that they will enhance the performance of athletes, attract national and international competitions, and promote tourism.
The recent Bauchi state Sports Festival, which saw Kirfi Local Government emerge as the overall winner with 27 medals, is a testament to the potential of sports development in the state.
