Gov. Idris pledges to pay compensation for land for 500 FHA houses

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has pledged to pay the compensation for the land for the construction of 500 pilot housing units by the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) in Birnin Kebbi.

The Governor disclosed this on Thursday in Birnin Kebbi when the Managing Director of FHA paid him a courtesy visit.

He said, “I am the most happiest person today as i attach topmost importance to the provision of affordable housing to the cross section of people, workers and non workers alike.

“When I was NLC President and NUT Chairman, we clamoured for the govenrment to construct houses for the workers.

“That was how the Adamu Aliero housing estate was esetablished and they were distrhuted to the workers at owner-occupier basis,including federal workers and they are our own.”

Dr. Idris pledged that his administration will do everything possible to enable the FHA to achieve its core mandate.

He also promised that all the needed documents for the planned housing estate will be made available at the most earliest time by the State Ministry of Land and Housing.

Earler, the Managing Director of FHA,Hon Oyetunde Ojo had earlier thanked the Governor for his sustained support to the FHA, saying, “FHA is your own.

“The Federal Government is committed to providing affordable housing to Nigerians in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu ”

He said that he was in Birnin Kebbi to solicit for land,support, robust synergy and corporate partnership with the state government.

“We want to work together to achieve our common goal of providing affordable housing to the people of the state, ” he added.

He commended Governor Nasir Idris for the development strides in Kebbi State, particularly the State Capital, Birnin Kebbi.

‘ When I visited Kebbi some years back, the streets are in darkness bit now I can see new roads and streets lights everywhere. As you light the streets of Kebbi, may God continue to light you’, he prayed.
