The Kano State AGILE project coordinator, Nasiru Abdullahi Kwalli, said the project has achieved a substantial increase in girl-child enrollment and retention in schools through the AGILE project.

The Independent Mirror reported that the project coordinator, Nasiru Abdullahi Kwalli, made this known during a program with Guarantee Radio in Kano on Thursday.

He said the Project is making strides in improving the quality and access to education for young adolescent girls in and out in rural areas of Kano State.

Nasir Kwalli said the main objectives of the program are to address the persistent problems bedeviling secondary schools, especially for girls, who often face barriers such as inadequate schools, infrastructure, water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities.

“These initiatives, along with others including the Safe School Initiative, are a testament to our commitment to ensuring that every girl child in Kano has the opportunity to fulfil her potential”,

“We hope every child will receive a quality education and lead a healthy life. We believe that investing in our girls is not just a matter of social justice but also a strategic imperative for our nation’s progress and development,” he said.

The AGILE Kano Project is funded by the World Bank and implemented by the Kano State Ministry of Education in collaboration with other stakeholders.

The project aims to increase equitable access to secondary education and enhance quality and accountability in secondary schools in Kano State.
