Bauchi-Gombe Highway to wear new look with Over 35 Billion Naira Concrete Road project awarded by the Federal Government.

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Muhammad Abdulkadir says process has commenced for the complete rehabilitation of the phase 1, Bauchi to Gombe road awarded by the Federal Bauchi Government.

The road which will be the first all-concrete road in the Northeast region is to be delivered at the cost of over one Billion naira.

The State Governor Bala Mohammed announced this at the Ground Breaking Ceremony of 29 kilometers road from Dindima to Maina Maaji in Bauchi and Alkaleri Local Government Areas awarded by his administration.

Senator Bala Muhammad Abdulkadir said Major components of the project also include construction of bridges and culvers from Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State to Gombe to reduce the incessant cutting off of road along the corridor especially in rainy season.

The Governor who commended the Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima for his commitment towards actualization the project maintained that when completed it would address the transportation challenges being experienced by commuters.

At the inauguration of Dindima to Maina Maaji Project, Governor Bala Mohammed said about ten billion naira was approved to provide smooth access to Yankari Games Reserve, enhance transportation and commercial activities for the benefiting communities and tourists.

Adding that when completed, The road is expected to last for more than fifty years and can adore to all Disaster including flooding.

He described Alkaleri Local Government as the new Economic zone of the state and the North said arrangements are in advance stage for commencement of crude oil processing in Kolmani integrated site, in addition to Establishment of Refinery, Fertilizer company as well as a Gas power plant.

In a remark The State Commissioner Ministry of Works and Transport Ibrahim Galadima who said the work is to be completed in 18 dry months assured that the Ministry would ensure strict adherence to the contract specifications.


The Emir of Bauchi Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu Lauded the commitment of the Governor in transforming the state to an economic powerhouse of the Nation.

Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu also commended the present administration for prioritizing the peace and security of the state through equitable and justifiable administration in the state.
