Kebbi Government flags off rehabilitation of modern Birnin Kebbi motor park.

Kebbi State Government has flagged off the rehabilitation of the central motor park, Birnin Kebbi worth N2.99 billion.

At the ceremony this Thursday, the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Alhaji Yakubu Bala Tafida who represented Governor Nasir Idris, said the motor park has been in dilapidated condition unbecoming of the status of a state capital.

The SSG added that Comrade, Dr. Nasir Idris approved the immediate rehabilitation of the park into modern edifice to provide excellent transportation hub for passengers, drivers and goods as well as other users coming and departing Kebbi State.

Furthermore, the motor park wearing a face-lift would be a symbol of honour and integrity befitting the state capital.

The Commissioner for Works and Transport, Hon. Abdullahi Umar Faruq Muslim, said the project entailed complete rehabilitation and modernisation of the park for modern public transport.

Among facilities to be constructed are adequate water supply, modern administrative block, lock up shops, available sit out for commuters, gallery, up to date readable electronic information board and restaurant.

The Commissioner added that on completion, the motor park would serve as convenient centre for both local and international travellers and freight collation coming from all over the country and the neighbouring Republic of Niger and Benin Republic.

It would also be a befitting shelter, safety and comfort to commuters as they wait for boarding to their destinations.
Work is being handled by AMIJAPP Nigeria Limited with mandate to ensure quality job within the 12 months completion time frame.
