Gov Idris approves payment of over N1.7bn to 745 State, LGA, LGEA retirees

In continuation of the good legacies of his predecessor, Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has approved the release of N 1,795,505,173.08 for the payment of gratuity and death benefits to 745 State ,Local Government, Local Government Education Authority, LGEA as well as contract staff from May,15th to October 15th 2023.

This is contained in a press statement signed by the Kebbi State Head of Service, Alhaji Sufyanu Garba Bena and made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.

According to the statement, 745 retirees were scrutinised and verified by the Office of the Head of Service through a committee comprising the organised labour and other stakeholders.

The breakdown, according to the statement indicated that 318 gratuity /death and contract staff beneficiaries payment amounts to N972,710,4 for State retirees.

Payment for local Government gratuity/death benefits to 247 beneficiaries amounts to N427,971,191,33 while the payment for LGEA gratuity/death benefits to 180 beneficiaries amounts to N394,823,495.83 making the total sum of N1.795,505,173,08.

The Head of Service, expressed appreciation to Governor Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu for his magnanimity towards the the welfare of civil servants in the State even with the current economic crunch in the country.
