Notorious kidnapper, Dogo Oro neutralised by vigilantes in Bunza

A notorious kidnapper, Dogo Oro, has been killed by local vigilantes in Tunga village, Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

Dogo was reported killed by vigilantes when he launched attacks sporadically shooting at people with bow and arrow in one of the surrounding villages of Kanzanna on Friday.

The Director of Security , Cabinet Office, Birnin Kebbi, AbdulRahman Usman, revealed this to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.

The suspected terrorist, according to the Director has been serially perpetrating terrorism in Bunza Local Government particularly kidnapping innocent villagers and demanding for ransom.

Usman said, “‘Security progress report indicated that today, 01/12/2023 from Tunga village, Tilli ward, Bunza local Government .

‘ A notorious kidnapper called Dogo Oro, who was well known for terrorism in Bunza and Kalgo Local Government Areas has been killed this morning by our men, the vigilantes at Tunga area.

‘In an attempt to kidnap his victims using bow and arrow, shooting people, the vigilante shot him down,” he averred.

The director happily said that with the successful operation by the local vigilantes, the residents of the communities can now go about their normal business activities unhindered with the security of their lives and properties guaranteed.

While applauding the gallant efforts of the vigilantes in supporting other security operatives, Usman also appreciated the unending support of Governor Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu in making sure that the security challenges being experienced in some areas of the State are critically addressed .

”The Kauran Gwandu- led administration is on its toes to keep Kebbi people and their properties safe.

” He maintains regular security meetings, regular logistic support to the security personnel and he set up a combined a security task force team comprising all the security agencies in order to address banditry and any form of criminality in the State,” he explained.
