War Against Divorce: Couples Network International Targets 3840 Marraiges Mentors.

A Bauchi State Christian based international Organisation, Couples Network International says it is targetting no fewer than 3840 members by November 2025 to groom as marraige mentors to equip them to wage war against divorce in families.

President of the organisation Rev. Dr. Okafor T. Emefesi made this known recently at Demonstrations Hotel Federal Polytechnic Bauchi at the 2023 first edition of marraige Ministers and Mentors dinner which attracted no fewer than 40 couples.

Speaking on the theme, “Operation Save Christian Marriages From Divorce, Marital Health Marriage Abuse and Premature Death”, the President re-echoed that ‘It is better to pay the price of keeping your Marriage than to pay the price of divorce and a broken home’.

He explained that the mobilisation vision of reaching the 3840 marriage mentors and ministers between 2023 – 2025 is possible when each particiating couple makes it a duty to invite at least one couple that will duplicate it by inviting another for the eight different times of the conference starting from September 2023 – November 2025.

Bemoaning the danger of divorce in families and the need to fight it sqaurely, the President said,

“Our ministry as marraige ministers is to change soared marraiges to sweet marriages as premature deaths of husbands is the reason for thousands of widows in Nigeria”.

He highlighted some causes of divorce to include: hardness of heart, sexual starvation, financial conflicts, in-law conflicts as well as inability to manage conflicts.

Rev. Dr. Okafor further identified the consequences of divorce to include: victimising children inform of abandonment, destitution, psychological trauma and moral decadence.

Others are: church social or family disintegration, and generational family curses.

The Network International President who quoted many scriptures to support his claim argued that divorce is a killer disease and their network is poised to fighting it tooth and nail through the marriage ministers and mentors.

Other speakers at the conference include Dr. Mrs Okafor T. Emefesi, the pioner couple Dr. Funke Olarinoye, as well as other ministers.

Highlight of the gathering was presentation of awards to media partners, certification of marraige mentors, decoration of organising commitee members and decoration of a pioneer couple Dr. Funke Olarinoye.
