A Bauchi based Islamic scholar, Shaikh Tijjani Yusuf Guruntun, has tasked government at all levels to review their policies on foodstuffs in an urgent move to address plight of citizens as a result of high cost of foodstuffs.

In his weekly Wednesday tafsir, Shaikh Guruntun said it was unfortunate that both well to do individuals and authorities are not doing the needful to assist the needy at this critical time of hardship as a result of increased in price of petrol which affected the prices of foodstuffs.

He said citizens are in need of immediate assistance to alleviate their suffering, hence the need for authorities to embark on initiating palliatives to cushion the effect of the current hardship.

Shaikh Guruntun however urged the citizens to go back to Almighty Allah and seek for forgiveness in their sins for Allah’s blessings for a better living and also called on people to avoid wickedness, envy, and covetousness which always bring about displeasure leading to the Almighty Allah’s punishments on the citizens.

The Islamic scholar insisted that people must avoid and shun all sorts of evils that as a results of which the society will never witness the blessings of Almighty Allah.
