West African College of Physicians Commences AGSM in Bauchi State.

The West African College of Physicians, Nigeria Chapter, has commence its 47th Annual General and Scientific Meeting in Bauchi State.

Declaring the AGM open, the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, says the state government is working round the clock, to ensure citizens have access to quality healthcare services in the State.

Bala Mohammed represented by his deputy, Hon. Mohammed Auwal Jatau, says 1,313 health workers, 606 medical and Para Medical Staff have been recruited in different cadres in the state.

The Governor, added that doors are open for collaborations with relevant stakeholders, to improve the health sector in Bauchi State.

He commended the college, for offering free medical outreach in Durum community of Bauchi local government as part of the 47 AGM.

Speaking at the event, the National President of the west African Physicians College, Nigeria, Dr Madaki Jarmia noted that, the college is promoting professional training of physicians, helping government to improve healthcare, and connect government of the sub region with relevant organizations and donor agencies, to proffer solution to health related issues, among others.

He also appreciated the existing relationship with the Bauchi state government, and stressed the need to maintain the tempo.

The theme for this year’s event is Health -Related SDGS In Nigeria, the progress so far.
