Today, Members of the 10th Assembly of Bauchi State elected member representing Ningi Central Constituency and immediate past Speaker Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman as Speaker.

This is the first time in the history of democracy in Bauchi State that a Speaker would be reelected after four-year uninterrupted tenure.

Like the proverbial cat that has many lives, Speaker Dangaladima has withstood many obstacles and against all odds he is rapidly moving to political ascendancy.

How he overcame the challenges of the aftermath of his emergence as Speaker in 2019 against the wish of his former Party, united the House, built consolidated relationship with Governor Bala Mohammad and how he defeated his opponents to get reelected as member representing Ningi Central Constituency have proven his political sagacity and strong connection with the grassroot.

His unalloyed political loyalty, patience and achievements recorded in the 9th Assembly, especially the synergy he built with the Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad-led Executive Arm, have helped him in rising through the ranks to become the Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria and now Speaker of the Assembly for second term, breaking all records and all jinxes.

Today’s history making event was kick-started by Hon. Mubarak Haruna Mai Rakumi (NNPP, Jama’are Constituency) after he rose and nominated Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman for the Speakership position in which Hon. Auwal Hassan (PDP, Shira Constituency) seconded him. Interestingly the Honourable Members unanimously elected the nominee, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman Dangaladiman Ningi as the Speaker of the 10th Assembly, unopposed.

Another historic development that followed this, was the election of member representing Bauchi Central Constituency Hon. Jamilu Umaru Dahiru as Deputy Speaker after Hon. Habibu Umar (PDP, Kirfi Constituency) nominated him and Hon. Bello Sarkin Jadori (PDP, Gamawa Constituency) seconded him.

Hon. Jamilu Umaru Dahiru popularly known as Jamilu Barade is the first lawmaker to win reelection in Bauchi Central Constituency and first Deputy Speaker from the Constituency.

Hon. Jamilu is one of the lawmakers I became very close with when I served as Spokesperson to the Speaker and from day one, looking at his humility and achievements, I know so many big things are lurking for him, today’s election is just the beginning of many good things that will come his way.

I congratulate the Speaker, his Deputy and all members of the 10th Assembly and wish them successful tenure.

By Usman Abdullahi Koli Greatness is never loud. It does not announce itself with drums or decorate its path with banners. It builds, it gives, it heals, and it walks away quietly, leaving only the sound of impact behind. This is the spirit carried by the Wunti Alkhair Foundation, a vision founded and driven by […]

Someone hears the unheard cries and decides to act. Not for praise. Not for politics. Just for people. That is how the Wunti Al-Khair Foundation was born […]

By Usman Abdullahi Koli, ANIPR It is difficult to put into words the story of a man whose life was not just lived but felt deeply, genuinely, and profoundly. It’s over now, the last file signed, the final handshake exchanged, the door gently closed behind a man whose entire life has been anything but ordinary. […]
