Bauchi Governor Pledges Support To Security Chiefs In North East Zone

The Bauchi state government says it will give all the necessary support to all security agencies in the North East in order to address the peculiar challenges confronting the region.

The Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Governor Bala Mohammed made this known on Tuesday at the 11th conference of state Directors of security North East Zone

Represented by the secretary to the state government Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, the governor said the government holds the opinions of security chiefs seriously in securing the region.

While emphasizing the need for synergy among the security chiefs, he said the government looks forward to the outcome of the security conference as security remains the government’s top priority.

“It is important as a government, we are aware and we support such conferences, we are aware of the communiqué that is going to be presented to His Excellency, this afternoon by the Grace of God,
“We assure you as you all know like we all know the state government have been doing its best in terms of security, we will implement whatever recommendation that is brought to the state government,
“According to him, as the secretariat of the North East Governors forum, the recommendation of the conference on security will also be pushed forward to the state governors of the region to deliberate its implementation”, the governor said.

Earlier in his welcome address, the host and chairman of the conference of the state Directors of security Husseini B. Abdullahi said the major security challenges bedeviling the region are virtually the same ranging from insurgency, terrorism, banditary, kidnapping among others.

He appreciated the state government for its continuous support to them and assured continued synergy among security chiefs within the region in order to keep it secured.

Speaking on behalf of other security Chiefs at the conference, the Brigade commander 33 Artillery Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Emmanuel Egbe expressed hope that the details of the conference outcome will be valuable to them.

Our correspondent learnt that the conference had other security chiefs or representatives from the Police, Nigerian Airforce, Nigeria Correctional service, Civil Defence and Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency.

Security chiefs and representatives from other states of the region including, Borno, Adamawa, Taraba, Yobe and Gombe were also present.
