Gov Idris swears in SSG, HOS, CoS, promises appointments with value to the people

History was again recorded in Kebbi State on Monday as the State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris ,Kauran Gwandu swore in the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala, Tafidan Yauri, SSG, the Head of Service, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba Bena, HoS and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Barrister Attahiru Maccido, amidst pomp and pageantry .

He said the three sworn-in officials have track records of achievements well known to the public and mandated them to begin work immediately according to the schedules of their offices.

The governor promised that his administration would only appoint persons who will add value to the people with experience in the scheme of things.

He assured that the government would do everything humanly possible to be just and fair to the people of Kebbi State.

‘ ‘ We will continue to appoint people who will add value to the people with experience to serve in this administration,” he emphasized.

Gov. Idris warned workers to brace themselves for maximal productivity in the civil service or face disciplinary action.

The governor made it clear that corrupt, lazy or insolent civil servants would be thrown out of the service.

He reiterated that corrupt, lazy or civil servants found wanting in the discharge of their duties would be sent packing.

Dr. Nasir Idris reaffirmed his commitment to run an open and an all-inclusive administration without creating any vacuum but warned that those who could not add value to the system would be replaced.

The governor gave an assurance that the problems of teachers and local governments would be addressed while other officials of government including commissioners, special advisers, senior special assistants and special assistants would be appointed soon.

He announced that the incumbent administration welcomes constructive criticisms without discrimination in the running of government, assuring that his campaign promises would be fulfilled.

The governor directed Chairmen of Local Government Councils to report to the Deputy Governor for briefing, saying there have been certain incidences in some local government areas of which the government would look into the appropriate ways to address such issues.

Kebbi State acting Chief Judge, Justice Umar Abubakar administered the oath of office on the SSG, the Head of Service and the Chief of Staff under the supervision of the Governor.

The Acting Grand Qadi of the state, Dr. Tukur Sani Argungu attended the epoch- making event which took place at Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
