Gov Bagudu commends RIFAN’s contribution to Nigeria’s food security

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has acknowledge the steadfast of the rice Farmers Association of Nigeria, (RIFAN) in the actualization of the food security policy of president Muhammadu Buhari which resulted to the attainment of self sufficiency in rice production by Nigeria.

The Governor made the commendation when he received executive members of RIFAN from Sokoto and Kebbi States led by the National Chairman,Alhaji Aminu Goronyo who paid him a Sallah homage at the Government house in Birnin Kebbi.

The Governor revealed that RIFAN has remained an active stakeholder in the rice value chain of the federation and in Kebbi state that has enhanced rice cultivation in the state and in Nigeria as well as improve the economic prosperity of farmers.

He believed that the incoming administration of Asiwaju Ahmad Bola Tinubu will build on the legacies of President Muhammadu Buhari of making the country not only food secured but also exporter of agricultural produce to other countries.

Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu was elated about the immeasurable contribution of RIFAAN to food security of the nation which projected it to the limelight that attracted Egypt to enter into food program agreement with the association on rice farming, livestock production and fisheries.
Before now some West African countries have entered into similar venture with RIFAN on rice production.

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu expressed appreciation to RIFAN delegation for their goodwill and congratulations on the election of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President Elect of Nigeria and the election of Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu as Governor- elect of Kebbi State.

Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu was emphatic that the incoming administration of Asiwaju Tinubu would uphold the feat in Agriculture achieved by President Muhammadu Buhari of not only making Nigeria food secured but also exporter of Agricultural produce to other countries.

In his remarks,the national chairman (RIFAN) Alhaji Aminu Goronyo described Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu as mentor and a leader who has been honored with the position of great patron of RIFAN.

He said Agricultural revival actualized by the Governor energized rice farmers to increase yields and spread positive effect throughout the nation, making the state as the rice hub of the federation.

Alhaji Aminu Goronyo further rejoiced with the Governor over victory of President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor- elect of Kebbi State, Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu.
