Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state has warned the contractor handling the construction of the Dirin – Daji – Dankolo road in Sakaba local government to hasten completion of work as scheduled without compromising quality.
The governor gave the warning at the palace of the Chief of Sakaba Chiefdom, Alhaji Ladan Musa Muhammed Sakaba after listening to complaints from the people of the area about abandonment of the project by the contractor.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu said the state government was not owing the contractor any pending payment, emphasizing that work must be completed to enable famers, traders and communities in the area have easy access to social interactions and economic transactions.
The governor made it clear that he was resolute on completing the road project before handing over power while his successor, the APC governorship candidate, Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, if elected would build upon successes so far recorded.
Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu thanked traditional rulers, community leaders, security agencies, self-volunteer groups (‘yan sakai) and vigilantes for their efforts in the maintenance of peace and security in the area.
In a remark, former Minister of Internal Affairs, General Muhammadu Magoro who is the Deputy Director General, Kebbi State APC Campaign Council appealed to people in the chiefdom to turn out en masse to vote for APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
In separate contributions, the APC gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Nasir idris Kauran Gwandu and the Senator Kebbi South, Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah called on the electorate to massively vote for the APC to secure victory at the polls.
The Chief of Sakaba Chiefdom, Alhaji Ladan Musa Muhammad Sakaba expressed gratitude to the governor for appointing him as Chief of Sakaba and adopting measures to return all IDPs back to their homes.
Alhaji Ladan Sakaba bestowed the traditional title of Sarkin Yakin Sakaba, on Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and the traditional title of Zannan Sakaba on Dr. Nasir Idris.
