Coalition of Anti-Corruption Networks in Nigeria has frowned at the unpatriotic action of the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment, Mrs. Evelyn Ngige, of violating the mandatory provisions of the Public Procurement Act, 2007.

It could be recalled that an investigation carried out by the Nigeria Police Force in tandem with the petition submitted by Phantom Digital Technologies Services Limited through its lawyers, has indicted the top ministry official of violating the mandatory provisions of the Public Procurement Act, 2007.

The Director of the Coalition, Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim in a press release issued to journalists in Bauchi yesterday, said that they were perplexed that despite the Anti-Corruption war superintend by President Muhammadu Buhari, it is notably pathetic that top government officials of the ministry have through their graft acts keep on undermining the determination of the present administration.

According to the coalition, the violation of Public Procurement Act, 2007 by Mrs. Evelyn Ngige and her cohorts has further revealed to it that officials of government will continue to work against the Anti-graft agenda of the Federal Government.

Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim argued that until the agencies saddled with the responsibilities of doggedly fighting the graft menace to an end, they would continue to pay lip service to the war against corruption which has eaten deep into the fabrics of the Nigerian society.

The director therefore called for the immediate sack and subsequent apprehension of Mrs Evelyn Ngige so as to allow the law take its course, stressing “This is our demand and we shall stand vehemently by it”.
