Bauchi Poly to Start PGD Courses in Criminology and Security Studies, Assures More Conducive Learning Environment for Students

Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi is to introduce Post Graduate Diploma courses in Criminology and Security Studies, in the institution to boost the level of academic performances of Bauchi indigenes.

The Dean School of General Studies in the polytechnic Dr. Muhammad Auwal Sulaiman, dropped the hint while speaking at the closing ceremony of the 5 day working training workshop, organized by the polytechnic, in collaboration with the North East Development Commission NEDC.

Dr. Muhammad stated that Education is paramount to every society that’s why the institution under the current Rector’s agenda is to ensure that new courses were introduced especially in the profession of security and other related courses.

He added that, on issue of students access to educational facilities, the management has provided them with enough facilities to have access to all they need in that aspect.

Dr. Auwal said the institution has extend its hand to affiliate with other institutions to get more courses, so that the polytechnic will compete with any other in the country.

Also speaking, the Coordinator of NEDC, Borno State Chapter, Engr. Mohammed Umaru says that the commission has helped various communities especially on education and security.

He therefore appreciated the effort of the Coordinator of the training, which he says the likes of Dr. Auwal are rare in this contemporary world.

The workshop aimed at bringing together security expertise together especially those in private entities was to enhance their practice and engage them on new methods of tackling security challenges across north east.

Participants at the closing ceremony of the training, expressed their gratitude to the polytechnic and NEDC for organizing such event that will pave way for other government body to emulate.

Finally, the Rector of the Polytechnic Dr. Sa’idu who was represented by coodinator of the training thanked the NEDC for funding the program and assured the commission that the Polytechnic is always ready to partner with them to provide effective community services.
