Professor Fatimah Tahir the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the Bauchi State University, she was born in prestigious family of Talba Attahiru. Professor Fatimah a daughter to Mallam Ja’afaru Tahir who is siblling brother of the renowned schoolar Dr Ibrahim Tahir former Minister of Internal affairs , Talba Mutari a former Federal permanent Secretary, technocrat per execllence Alhaji Isa Tahir who was a Former Commissioner of trade and industries of Bauchi State and Abdulrahaman Tahir also a renowned figure.
Prof Fatimah Tahiir an academic per excellence, She has broken so many records in the field of academics, she is the first female professor In Bauchi Local Government and also the first female Professor of Microbiology in the State. Professor Fatimah Tahir holds a BSc, MSc and PhD in Microbiology from Abubakar Tafawa University Bauchi.
She has become a pioneer, an inspiration, an role model to our female children in academics, she has made a mark worth of emulation, a yardstick for others to follow and a blue print for others to immitate, and a destination for others to aim for, she has opened the door for others to enter.

Professor Fatimah Tahir held many Positions in different institution because of her diligence and hard-working personality, she was a former Dean School of Postgraduate Studies Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi, head of department in Gombe University, she held the possition of Director academics planning in Bauchi state University, Deputy vice Chancellor Academics and Acting Vice Chancellor, Nigerian Army University Biu and now appointed as Vice Chancellor Of the Bauchi State University. Therefore if Sardauna of Sokoto was addressed as ‘Gamji Uban Yan Boko’ definitely Fatimah Tahir will be consider as “Fatimah Uwar Yan Boko”.
