University Don cautions Journalists on ethical practice

Journalists have been called to discharge their duties according to the rules of the profession.

The called was made by Dr. Bala Muhammed a lecturer at the department of mass communication Bayero University Kano.
The university don gave the charge all at a two days workshop for humanitarian and conflict reporting to the journalists that partake across the north-East.

The event took place at Homtel and resorts along army barrack road Yola.

Doctor Bala said the workshop will go a long way to help the journalist to be aware of the importance of humanitarian and conflicts reporting, reminding them to strictly adhere to journalism ethics that places premium on facts and balances.

In her welcome address at the workshop the head of the delegation Charlie Coste said the International Committee of the Red Cross is an impartial, Neutral and Independent Humanitarian organization with the mandate to protect and assist victims of armed conflicts and other violence.

Some of the journalist spoken to at the workshop, they thanked the officials of the ICRC for organizing the event and with this they have called on the them to extend the message.

The highlight of the events was a presentation of the certificate to all participants.
