Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi, Alhaji Yayanuwa Zainabari has expressed optimism that Governor Bala Mohammed would emerge victorious with 1.5million votes in the 2023 governorship race in the state for his second term in office.

Zainabari yesterday told journalists, after PDP presidential candidate, Atiku’s visit to Bauchi where he received thousands of decampees from other opposition political parties, that judging from the tumultuous crowd gathered at the event, the re-election of Governor Bala in the 2023 polls is a sure victory for the party.

According to him, Bauchi is a PDP state, hence the large crowd that besieged the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium (ATBS) are genuine followers of the party, saying people are being cajoled with the unparalleled achievements of Governor Bala Mohammed of the past three years.

“The sea of heads you saw at the stadium Wednesday are the unbeatable followers of the PDP that converge at the event venue, coupled with the thousands decampees and their adherents who took a stage to witness the cross-carpeting of the new members.

Spokesperson Zainabari revealed that unlike the figure of over 25, 000 decampees earlier announced by the state party chairman, Hamza Koshe, the number far superseded that to 142, 000 based upon what were contained in the registration books displayed at the event venue.

The Bauchi PDP publicity secretary recalled, “The former APC gubernatorial aspirant, Farouk Mustapha and former APC deputy governor, Arc Abdu Sule Katagum have publicly say it that over 142, 000 supporters have followed them on the decamping spree, in addition to other new faces that are seriously for Atiku Abubakar”.

Zainabari therefore assured the journalists that they would witness a much bigger crowd of PDP supporters on the take-offs of the respective launching days of the gubernatorial and presidential electioneering campaigns coming up shortly in Bauchi.

He attributed the massively growing numbers of PDP supporters in Bauchi, and even its population increase to the relative peace the Governor Bala-led administration in collaboration with security agencies is maintaining in the state, and called for continued support to both the party and government in the drive towards the promised land.
