Intra party conflict is the cancer disease of any political party. whoever is willing to win election, if there is conflict within the party is indeed in a dilemma for winning. since the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the party flag bearer, wike and his people tussle over the victory of Atiku Abubakar which wike has a long time plan to clinch the party ticket but unfortunately lost for Atiku. many attempts have been made to reconcile the aggrieved party which is yet to be accepted for reconciliation, this could be a major hindrance for the party to win the presidential election in the forthcoming general election.

It’s obvious in Nigerian politics that personal interest always supercedes the party’s Ideology that’s the reason why there is backwardness of Democracy in the third world countries. Wike and Atiku political tussle is the main problem that needs to be addressed because both of them have reached the pinnacle of misunderstanding despite several talks and visitation to Wike over the issue but yet the reconciliation is not achieved. personally Atiku Visited Governor Wike several times but the matter is yet to be addressed. This shows that wike has personal interest over the matter not the interest of party or progress of the country.

The opposition political party (PDP) should look for another alternative to do without wike because even in 2019 presidential election in Rivers according to the figures being released by INEC, valid votes were reported to have reached 642,165; rejected votes were 24,420 and total votes cast were 666,585. APC polled 150,710 votes while PDP secured it’s win with 473,971.” While In 2015 despite the Party was an opposition in the state, PDP secured to win with 1,487.075 votes therefore PDP should prepare for the Victory without wike.

Atiku has an advantage for winning the election without the influence of wike albeit the fact that he took his running mate an Igbo man by tribe and from South south this would be an advantage for him to win the election without the influence of wike. If the people of south south and South East gamble their chances as the south west did in 2011 to produce a vice president and key ministerial seats which ACN in 2011 who were rejected the merger offered by CPC which ACN rejected the Vice presidential candidate, and accepted the mere promises of the PDP as the then Jonathan as president. therefore the people of the southwest ended up with zero achievement because they neither produce SGF nor the Senate President talkless of Speaker (House of representative). Moreover rejecting Wike Personal interest or to go with little achievement.
