62nd Independence: Gov. Bagudu hosts CSGSS Goru Students to a Luncheon

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu this Sunday hosted students of Command Science Girls Secondary School Goru near Birnin Kebbi to a luncheon in the spirit of the sixty-second independence anniversary of Nigeria as a nation.

The gathering took place at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Birnin Kebbi attended by the Commandant of the School, Major Justina Odion Uwaighiaya and other instructors.

Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu informed his guests that, his administration has placed optimum priority on education at all levels including specialized course as obtained in the command school.

He expressed satisfaction about the seriousness, commitment and hard work by the students whenever he visited the school, saying he was particularly happy about the request of some of them for more women participation in the school as students.

Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu pledged that their requirements as presented the commandant of the school for the provision of additional teaching and learning materials to the institution would be looked into to further support them in their studies.

The Governor directed the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to include the school in the World Bank Project of Adolescent Girl Education and Skills Acquisition to enable the students learn more on skills for self ventures even after passing out from school.

He called on them to rededicate themselves to their studies to excel in examination in all fields of endevour and rejoiced with the students, teachers and corps members on the 62nd independence anniversary of the country.

In a remark, the State Deputy Governor, Retired Colonel Sama’ila Yombe Dabai advised the students take their academic pursuit very serious and maintain discipline at all times.

In their separate worlds of wisdom and encouragement, two females Permanent Secretaries, Hajiya Halima Boyi Dikko of the Ministry of Higher Education, and that of Budget and Economic Planning, Hajiya Aishatu Usman Kalgo advised the students to concentrate on Academic learning to pursue chosen career to requisite professionalism.

They expressed satisfaction about the level of determination of students in the school calling on them to sustain the tempo and make inquiries in matters which they do not understand.

Earlier, the School Commandant, Major Justine Odion Uwaieghianye was full of praises for Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu for giving the school optimum attention as evident in his visits to the students, adding that as a newly posted Commandant, she regarded the Governor as a father who has the interest of his children at heart which was very encouraging.

Also speaking, the Representative of the NYSC Antony Olawo, the School Head Girls, Mabruka Yusuf Shamaki expressed appreciation to the Governor for hosting the students and corps members to a luncheon and prayed Allah to reward him abundantly.

At the feast, special prayers were offered to thank God for the sixty second independence anniversary of Nigeria, beseeching the creator to bless our leaders and followership as well as mercy for the nation’s founding fathers.

The luncheon was attended by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Babale Umar Yauri mni, Permanent Secretary Government House, Aliyu Mustafa Gwandu and acting Permanent Secretary Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Alhaji Bala Umar Magaji as well as Vice-Principal Administration of the school, Hajiya Fatima Abubakar Tosho.

Also present were the APC Zonal Vice Chairman, Kebbi North, Alhaji Sahabi Lolo, prominent politicians and a businessman, Alhaji Danladi Jandutsi.
