Arangements have reached advanced stage for the conveyance of over two thousand six hundred Bauchi State contingents to Mina in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the hajj rituals.
To this end, officials from the state pilgrims Welfare Board and 2024 Amirul-Hajj Team earlier inspected the tents allocated to the state pilgrims in Mina commonly known as the City of the Tents in the district of Masha’er, Province of Makkah in the Hejazi region of Saudi Arabia.
Mina is six kilometres east of the Masjid al-Haram in Makkah where Hajj pilgrims sleep overnight on the 8th, 11th, 12th of Dhul Hijjah and it ritual activities contains the Jamarat, the three stone pillars which are pelted by pilgrims as part of the rituals of Hajj.
Over one million two hundred pilgrims world over are currently in Mecca preparatory to the period for which they must stay in Mina after the day of Sacrifice namely the 11th and 12th of Dhul-Hijjah.
Speaking on the level of preparation to transport the state contingents to the area, the Chairman accommodation sub-committee in Mina and Arfa Malam Ahmad Muhammad Inuwa Jahun expressed satisfaction with the arrangement made by Saudi Authorities through the country’s ministry of Hajj and Umrah Affairs.
Malam Ahmad Inuwa Jahun who is the Deputy Chief Imam of Bauchi explained that transporting the state contingents to Mina is scheduled to commence by 10:pm Saudi Arabia time.
