The former Assistant controller general of custom and an All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant in Kaduna state, Malam Bashir Abubakar, has obtained the party’s N50m expression of interest and nomination forms to contest the 2023 governorship election in the state.

Earlier Martaba FM had reported that on March 2022, Malam Bashir declared his intent to the incumbent governor, Nasir El-Rufai, whose tenure will end in 2023.

Malam Bashir Abubakar was accompanied by top party chieftains from Kaduna State, key political associates, friends, well wishers and teams of enthusiastic supporters to the party’s secretariat.

Bashir reiterated the pledge to sustain and build on the legacies of El-Rufai, whom he described as an innovative and resourceful man, who had redefined governance through his unrivalled infrastructural and human capital development in Kaduna State.

“My profound appreciation top chieftains of our party, political associates, friends and well-wishers for sparing time to accompany me to collect the forms,” Bashir Abubakar said.
